From the Maker:
We designed this lamp to be both simple and adjustable. You can control the lighting spread through an easy mechanical process of pushing it, instead of using electronic dimmer switches. The lamp's form is inspired by a traditional furniture pattern from Brittany, France, known as 'Galette,' which we have reimagined using a cake mold for the lampshade.
 
Artel is two junior designers who gathered under one design project. Mathias, who has a background in fashion and second-hand design, lives in Nantes. Boris, formerly a sculptor, resides in SSaint-Guénolé. They enjoy working with traditional stories, forms, and materials. Their process also incorporates a significant number of second-hand objects, whether in the context of spatial or object design.
